I remeber Jo from the bowling alley. She was really great to all of us kids and would pick us up hitch hiking. My best friend (Jim Siemer) lived next door and we played Pinball alot at Sea Bowl. Jo had the V.W. bus then and man, was it SLOW up the hills. I went to school w/ Steve and Mike and Sue was really little then. Jo let us smoke in her house and I ran away from home for two weeks and she let me stay there. I made her a really big ashtray in my crafts class. What a great lady she was to all of us. I have nothing but nice memories of her and her family. Today, she is in my thoughts and I hope she is bowling nothing but 300 games in heaven !!! Steve Franco

My Mother loved the Bowling alley and all of you who came through the doors. For her, it was almost sacred. Most of her adult life was spent there, laughing and crying through all the changes. From the begining with Uncle Milty and Rita and all her leagues and friends to the end when she was able to watch Sea Bowl become Sea Bowl again. She loved it all. After taking care of her mother inlaw, she moved in with me and my family and spent her last years with us. My kids were blessed to have her in their lives, and I was blessed to call her mom. She was Jo, Joanie, JoMama, and our Grandma Jo. I love you Mom.

Yes I remember your Mother and you all quite fondly. The days of my youth were spent at the good old bowling alley. She was always there, always with a kind word. My heart goes out to you all, especially you poohspal, I spoke with you just before you left for AZ. Funny we just returned from AZ last week, indeed, its a small world.
Hugs,
Margie

I was very sad to read about Jo's passing in the Trib. What a fun person to know, and of course the most generous too. They should rename the bowling alley Jo's Sea Bowl. She was such a positive influence on all the kids there. Jo always made you feel like her house was your house. I also remember the V.W. bus. Jo said she always wanted to see Half Moon Bay, but was scared to death of Devil's Slide. I was very good friends with Steve and Mike, some of the brightest people I've ever known.(I sill remember Mike's talking clock from a cigarette pack). Doreen and I send our deepest sympathies to the entire Banks family. Steve Moldovan and Doreen Humphreys-Moldovan (moldovan1987@sbcglobal.net)
